Belgrade, 1999. While NATO is bombing the city to push Miloševic out of Kosovo, three ordinary people try to go on with their lives. At night, when the planes come, people keep making love and partying between air-raid alarms. But the tension and fear are ever-present. Marinus Groothof did not turn his first feature-length movie into a political pamphlet, but chose a recognisable human approach. In 2009, the director already incorporated the subject in his Golden Calf-winning short film Sunset From a Rooftop.
