A father undertakes a road trip with his almost adult son that he has not seen for six years. How this came about is gradually clarified in this documentary, while the two try to mend their relationship.
Jacinto has not seen his all but grown-up son Shakur for six years. Now, he takes the boy on a road trip in an attempt to mend the relationship. He teaches his son to drive, talks with him about this and that and plays with him: chess and tenpins. Jacinto’s phone conversations with his girlfriend reveal a little more about the past – for example that his son had to be taken into care by Bureau Jeugdzorg (Family Services). The intimate film shows that Jacinto dearly loves his son, but also realises how much damage has been done.
