Antillean men in Den Helder. The cabin they used to gather in has been demolished. A filmmaker wants to tell their true story. But when the men have their own ideas about the film, the images start toppling.
In this audacious documentary, the creation of the film itself and the director’s position are under discussion. De Leeuw meets a group of Antillean men on a vacant lot and tries to imagine how they used to tell each other stories in the cabin that once stood there. Demolished due to alleged public nuisance. Or were people prejudiced? And is she the best person to expose the stereotypes? A firm conversation starts in which the tables are turned. The filmmaker gets asked due questions, too, and the different perspectives ask for a unique visualisation.
