NFF Archive

Michiel van Erp followed Sylvia Kristel in 2007 around the launch of her autobiography Naakt in Paris and Amsterdam. In the documentary, the icon looks back on her eventful life. Van Erp’s images are interlarded with archive footage. Sober-minded and without starlike airs, the actress talks about her struggle with alcohol and the men who took her to the brink of ruin. Her sister and son fill a few holes in her memory here. In her autobiography, Sylvia Kristel comes across as a sincere woman with a sense of humour and self-reflection. This isn’t any different in this documentary, which makes the audience all the more curious as to what the NFF will offer on Saturday 28 September.
