French-spoken melodrama set entirely in Amsterdam's Pijp district. The film uses a voice over to tell the story of a mysterious foreign woman who is staying temporarily in a building in the area. In the reconstruction of a story of passion, recriminations and struggle, her carefully-cherished secret comes to the surface. Paul Ruven was inspired by the early films of Chantal Akerman and Marguerite Duras and with his film he pays homage to a warm and characteristic area of Amsterdam.
