In the Golden Age, Spinoza aspired to a society based on peace, freedom and justice. In a mix of genres, this film shows how valuable Spinoza's thinking is to the present-day society.

Using documentary, 3D animation and feature film elements, different professors depict the life and work of Spinoza. This philosopher, mathematician and political thinker aspired to a society where peace, freedom and justice are the underlying foundation and where every individual has a chance to reach happiness. A journey through time, from the eventful Golden Age to the present, shows how the events back then directly influenced Spinoza’s thinking, and how valuable the thoughts of this great scholar are to our present-day society.
