The city of Hebron, which is sacred to Jews, Muslims and Christians alike, is known as a centre of conflicts between Israelis and Palestinians. In this city, some 800 Israeli settlers live among more than 120,000 Palestinians. The settlers are protected by an equal number of Israeli soldiers. The Israeli-Dutch filmmaker Esther Hertog frequently visited Hebron in the course of three years, zooming in on the lives of the settlers: a confrontational mix of soldiers, ideological inhabitants and their playing children.
