Documentary commissioned by Gasunie about the laying of an underground network of gas pipes throughout the Netherlands for transporting natural gas from Slochteren. After lengthy procedures, the route is determined to cause minimal damage. The 40,000 pipes are prepared and laid at high speed, with a whole arsenal of machines and specialists from France, the United States and the Netherlands. Awe-inspiring images of pipes, foreign workers and specialists alternate with images of the landscape.
