Moving and humorous feature film about the improbable friendship between gay student-like Camiel and self-made guy, pot dealer and womaniser Simon.
Fate brings together homosexual student Camiel and downright wheeler-dealer Simon - hash dealer and lady-killer: the beginning of an improbable friendship. After an incident, the two lose contact, until one day they meet again, in the same coincidental way as the first time. They resume the thread, but something has changed: Simon is incurably ill. WithSimon, Eddy Terstall adds another chapter to his chronicle of life in Amsterdam, though this time he even ventures across the Dutch border. The motley collection of characters is the basis for humorous, sometimes absurd and also moving situations. Actor Cees Geel, who plays rough diamond Simon, underwent quite a metamorphosis: he gained fifteen kilos for the role, and lost them again in six weeks of shooting. Simon was awarded in 2004 four Golden Calve Awards, the SAP Youth Award and a Golden Film.
