Sef, the stage name of Yousef Gnaoui, cheerfully raps nineteen to the dozen in Wakker, the first track from his album In Kleur, and also stood behind the camera for the first time. In his music video directing debut, the colours almost spatter from the screen. ‘Just as in the music, I wanted to show my influences and throw several things together: African photography, rap shit, colour. I started visualising what I saw when I listened to the music.’ Says Sef himself.
