Schuldenaars

One by one, they appear before the court in Rotterdam: entrepreneurs whose debts have run up high and for whom bankruptcy is the only way out - or debt restructuring for private persons. One or two people protest, sometimes they feel relief when the judge issues an adjudication order. In many cases, the only blame is that parties hoped for too long things would work out. In several cases, the documentary follows the painful liquidations. 'So this is it, after 25 years,' a carpenter dismally comments while showing pictures from better days.
