Showing your 'Schokoladenseiten' is Berlin slang for showing your best side. Hella is an East-Berlin woman who, despite her age (over seventy), gets dolled up every evening before going to the ballroom, an old fashioned dance establishment where she hopes to find a new partner for life. After the fall of the wall and the death of her husband, she can at last realise all her unfulfilled dreams.
