In the voice-over, filmmaker Rob Smits explains how his long-cherished wish to bivouac some time with the Yanomami Indians in the Venezuelan jungle ended in complete failure. Decades ago, the Swiss photographer Karl Weidmann stayed with these Indians. He turned his experiences into the film Hoy en la Edad de Piedra, which inspired Smits to follow in Weidmann's footsteps. In 2006, he manages to spend one month with the Indians, but all his footage is confiscated and he is forced to go back home empty handed. From the footage he gathered in the build-up to the journey, Smits compiled a documentary in five short chapters, showing the cause of the fiasco. The Yanomami Indians are no longer the 'aristocrats of the jungle', but highly aware of the possibilities of modern civilisation.
