Recordings is an eight-part collection of recordings of traditional songs, as interpreted by amateurs. These are songs from various countries, sung by native people who have in common that they all live in the Netherlands. They sing about themes like desire, mothers and home. The makers use a simple format: each recording is introduced with a description of the song, its origins, the interpreter and the location - usually a domestic setting - where it is sung.
