The Dutch-Egyptian artist Tarik Sadouma lives in Cairo. Before the revolution, he made music videos of female pop stars that plastic surgeons made a fortune on. In the Middle East, this lucrative industry grew into an emancipatory subculture. Today, Sadouma makes life-size sculptures of the pop stars, selling them to nightclubs in Beirut or palace owners in Dubai, and he prepares a large exhibition on the power of Arabic women.
