Crime drama in Amsterdam-North, with equally doltish and dangerous criminals, catastrophic crime plans, wry dialogues and ink-black humour.

For detective Ronald Plasmeyer, illegal poker tournaments aren’t part of his job, but a serious gambling addiction. He is up to his ears in debt with a Chinese underworld character. When the latter intimidates Plasmeyer’s ex-wife and son, Ronald concocts a plan: by way of debt repayment, he orders pilferer Gerrit Ketting to execute a non-violent raid of a poker tournament that Ronald participates in. A perfect alibi and a watertight plan, if Gerrit had not involved one Bram Gotsbach as the third man. It turns out Gotsbach is an unpredictable rascal with psychopathic traits, in a crime drama with a sturdy dose of pitch-black humour. Feature debut by director/scriptwriter Porcelijn, who previously made his graduation film De Ontgoocheling with leading actor Ruben van der Meer.
