On a roof in St. Petersburg, two pipe-smoking men wearing caps and long coats walk up and down. One of them sums up (in Russian) eleven propositions by the absurdist 'writer, thinker and poseur' Daniil Charms (1905-1942) about numbers, rules and human thought. In a mix of styles, the actor also explains himself what Charms and his 'flowing philosophy' mean to him, plus animations of beetles and a woman on horseback file past.
