An elderly man and woman (Frits Lambregts and Pim Lambeau) are a happy couple. He goes out to buy a bottle of Dutch gin, in the sales. Shortly afterwards she receives a tragic telephone call. She cycles to the hospital, while dark clouds gather over their little house in the dunes. The woman lands in a succession of impersonal meetings, in which the situation is dealt with impassively and quickly. Based on true events.
