A Dutch family spends the last, long day of their holidays on a camp site in France. The once so close-knit family seems to be falling apart, due to differing interests and insights. The eldest son Casper struggles with the prospect of going to college, the adolescent daughter Lucy with her desire to be acknowledged sexually. And then there is the youngest son Thomas, whose hormones are fiercely raging; mother Jeanne has some doubts about her appeal, and father Aad - who at long last gives up his attempts to keep the family together - strikes out on his own. Each of the family members experiences the final holiday - or the first day of a new life - in his or her individual way. In this subtle comedy, vital questions are raised in a restrained way.
