In 2013, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra celebrated their 125th anniversary with a tour of 50 concerts spread over six continents. Heddy Honigmann lands with them in Buenos Aires, Soweto and St. Petersburg. Everywhere, the orchestra conquers people’s hearts. Musicians and listeners bear witness to the strength of music, which can stir up emotions and occasionally help endure the agony of life. From a cab driver who plays Haydn in his car, via the children of Soweto, to the story of an old Russian devotee of Mahler.
