Nummer vier is the sequel to the experimental short films Nummer twee and Nummer drie, in which Guido van der Werve combines performance, text, music and film images in abstract stories. In this film, Van der Werve plays a piano composition by Chopin on a raft in a Finnish lake. In the next scene, a complete orchestra plays a part from Mozart's Requiem on a boat. Instilled with beauty and melancholy, the film has a surprising end.
