Episode from contemporary television series comprising seven portraits of people with different cultural backgrounds. The seven characters, who all live in the same working-class area of Amsterdam, are confronted in different ways with the topical problems of our multi-cultural society. Marijke tells the story of a headmistress of a primary school who is beaten up in a tram by five blackgirls. She has worked for years with great enthusiasm and effort with children of different nationalities. The shocking events in the tram confuse her totally.
