A protein that seems to behave like a virus or a bacteria. It is known as a prion. Scrapie, mad-cow disease and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease have in common that strange prions are found in the brain. The proteins are difficult to break down and seem to blow up nerve cells. Is it an infectious protein and are there chances of an epidemic?
