Nature film about the metamorphosis of a Dutch river landscape. New Nature provides an impression of changes in Millingerwaard, a broad stretch of land along the banks of the River Waal, where agricultural land is turned into nature reserve under the watchful eye of warden Johan Bekhuis. The documentary shows how the mining of clay helps the development of new nature, how a field of corn can turn within a year into a sea of flowers and how high water rushes into the foreland, shapes the landscape and creates new opportunities for plants, animals and man.
