Silas is in his twenties and dreams of leaving his town in Iowa to lead his own life. But for the moment he takes care of five brothers and sisters, because his mother is on her own. Meanwhile, his Mexican-American family is preparing his sister’s fifteenth birthday. Atmospheric depiction of everyday life and the conflict between aspiration and circumstances in an industrial town. The director worked with non-professional, local actors.
