The old and wealthy lady Mrs. Tuyl van Serooskerken hires the young, proud, black, `working-class' Danny Schat as her driver for a ride to Monte Carlo. The 21-year-old boy is paid well, but does that make up for the series of prejudices he has to put up with during the journey? Initially, Mrs. Van Serooskerken is clearly pulling the strings, but little by little Danny takes charge and at the end of the trip, a close relationship has grown between the two opposites. Norbert ter Hall's feature début Monte Carlo is part of a film series that was produced within the scope of the No More Heroes project, an initiative enabling young and talented writers and filmmakers to realise a feature film.
