This Dutch-Belgian co-production is an adaptation of an actual and controversial Belgian lawsuit in which a mala fide businessman and womaniser (Peter Faber) is suspected of attacking and robbing an opera singer. During the interrogation, he tries to save his skin by diverting attention and suspicion to the investigating magistrate, who, he claims, commissioned him to kill his wife and was also the man behind the robbery of the opera singer.
