The documentary is set in the world of the old masters, laying down a mosaic of gripping stories, in which the boundless passion for Rembrandt’s paintings leads to dramatic developments and surprising plot twists. While a political battle erupts between the Louvre and the Rijksmuseum, art dealer Jan Six’ fondest wish threatens to deteriorate into a downright nightmare. It is an exclusive glimpse into a world that remains hidden to many, where people are driven by admiration, conceit, money, envy and greed, but above all by an infinite passion and love for the work of the grandmaster of intimacy.
