For this short experimental film, director Karel Doing drew inspiration from the lively and fickle forest spirit Apoekoe. The film mixes colour and black-and-white pictures and occasionally separates the soundtrack from the images. Framed by verses by Dorus Vrede, we see an associative trip across the virgin Suriname rainforest: a boat sails on the river; a man cracks open a coconut; a woman drinks from a creek.
