Light and ironic drama from the VPRO series Lolamoviola inspired by the comedies of Anton Chekhov. The film looks at a group of friends in their thirties who meet regularly in a holiday cottage on the island of Vlieland. During the holiday, the relationships become so disrupted as all are confronted with their own suppressed ideals and desires. The dreams they cherished as sixteen-year-olds are now lost and gone for ever. Even Thomas, the hero who left ten years ago and wanted to make something of his life, is a wreck. A film about the insatiable thirst for happiness and meaning in life.
