Episode from the Lolamoviola series of TV films made by up and coming talented filmmakers. In Het leven na mevrouw De Nijs, the 76-year-old Mrs. De Nijs kicks the bucket on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Relieved that she has finally got rid of her earthly existence, she is brought before the angel Gabriel in the hereafter. She is astonished to hear that she has arrived at the HUB, the Hiernamaals Uitzendburo (Hereafter Employment Agency), which employs volunteers from the underworld to help their fellow men. Having insisted on doing something for a mother-daughter relationship, Mrs. De Nijs is assigned to reconcile the hosophobic taxi driver Mercedes with her mother. Mercedes appears to be an aggressive woman who cannot stand people coming too close to her. Still, the elderly lady manages to tag along with her for 24 hours, although her earthly mission takes an unexpected turn.
