Film essay about DoP Robby Müller (1940-2018), who with his exceptional sense of colour depth, innovative lighting methods and continuous search for simplicity inspired many.

The ground-breaking Dutch director of photography Robby Müller knew like nobody else how to play with the sun and catch the rays like butterflies. In his hands, the camera turned into a music instrument that made everybody dance and illuminated the world. For her film essay, Claire Pijman got access to Müller’s personal archive: thousands of Hi8 video diaries, personal photographs and Polaroids Müller made during his career, while shooting with masters like Wim Wenders, Jim Jarmusch and Lars von Trier.
