After a shipwreck, a young Indian man ends up in a lifeboat he has to share with a dangerous Bengal tiger. During their survival journey on the unpredictable ocean, they are confronted with both the beauty and cruelty of nature. Ang Lee’s epic drama, partly made with computer animation, is based on Yann Martel’s eponymous, award-winning bestseller. In 2013, the film won four Oscars. Dutchman Erik-Jan de Boer and his colleagues won the statue for Best Visual Effects.
