Informed by footage from old newsreels, documentaries, reports and feature films, this film depicts how the immigration of the last sixty years has permanently changed European societies. Starting point of this documentary, based on the eponymous book, is a shared feeling of loss, with sympathy going out to both the position of the migrants and the societies taking them in. The reasoned compilation of significant archive footage from all over Europe speaks for itself and demonstrates that present-day conflicts can be considered a sign of integration.
