Rain is falling. A deserted parking lot with neat spaces. A mobile snack bar. A few cars. A fence. Behind it, the protected area with the runways of Schiphol. The fence also constitutes the hard dividing line between two worlds. That of those who stay and that of those who set off on adventures. An elderly couple has been counting airplanes for years. But when the slightly demented man’s wife has a harmless bit of fun with the chip stand owner, her husband slips off.
