Documentary about people with a unusual small body.
People with an unusually small body have for centuries been the brunt of attention and enjoyment. Fairy-tales, old folk stories and midgets as circus attractions demonstrate this. These days little people are often averse to this attention and try to lead lives as normal as possible. The documentary Klein voor altijd (Forever Little) follows several little people at work, at home and during a festive weekend of the Dutch Association for Little People. In the film, they talk about their problems, limitations, trials in love, finding work or having a child who will also probably be little. The filmmaker Barbara den Uyl did not choose to illuminate the lives of the individuals. With humour, music and poetic shots she provides a picture of people with an 'imperfect' body.
