Floradorp is an garden suburb of Amsterdam that is now hemmed in by Kamperfoelieweg, Sneeuwbalweg and Floraweg in the north of the city. The area is popularly called 'The Jungle' and not without reason. Unemployment among the inhabitants is high, about 80 percent of breadwinners is without work. The Municipal Housing Service build the neighbourhood in the Twenties with the intent to improve the living conditions of problem cases. Nowadays the neighbourhood has a character of its own. The solidarity of the inhabitants is portrayed through a few of them, while they prepare for Christmas. The important issue is which house has the finest decorations. In 1997 awarded a Golden Calf for Best Long Documentary.
