Young Belle lives in a hamlet, where she bicycles through the deserted cornfields free as a bird. The death of her aunt, with whom she lives, triggers events that awaken the girl to a painful occurrence in the past that still leaves its traces. When her mother suddenly returns, she relives suppressed memories. Then, it is also clear why the community reacts so fiercely to her love for her boyfriend Max. The expressive surreal drama, containing little dialogue, evokes an oppressive atmosphere.
