Portrait of the Dutch-Surinamese jazz singer Denise Jannah. In January 1995, watched by the entire Dutch music press, Denise Jannah signed a contract for the renowned American jazz label Blue Note. After this event, Jannah's international career really took off, after a modest start in 1992. Director Hans Hylkema followed the musical life of this talented vocalist for a year.
