Documentary about the versatile artist Jan Wolkers (1925-2006). This writer and fine artist was best known for his work but also for his media image. His 'flux de bouche' ensured that Wolkers was a welcome guest in chat shows. He loved to digress and didn't leave much space for his opposite numbers. Mat van Hensbergen wondered whether this behaviour was only an attitude, or whether Wolkers was really like this. So he followed Wolkers for a week in his home and studio on the island of Texel. This film tries to illuminate the other, quieter side of Wolkers and looks at his passion for writing, his family, nature and cooking.
