Festen director Thomas Vinterberg did not make a Dogma film this time, but chose for `the classic style' and an absurd story. The international co-production with a Dutch participation is set in 2021; a time when people are dying in the streets of loneliness, when snow falls in July and gravity wanes in Uganda. Main character John is the narrator. Hij arrives in New York to arrange a divorce with his wife Elena, a world-renowned figure skater that he has not seen for eighteen months. He stays longer than planned. Elena has become big business and suffers visibly under it. John finds out that his wife even stands in danger of losing her life.
