Unconventional film portrait of the poet Dik Verhaar.
Unconventional film portrait of the poet Dik Verhaar. The poems by Dik Verhaar can be distinguished from those of most other poets by their very human and hence inadequate character. The idiosyncratic poet did not strive for perfection and lofty heights but wanted to show everyday things in all their absurdity. In the documentary In het papieren theater, Dik Verhaar talks about his work, his motives and his view of the world. In addition, several poems by Verhaar and his friends Maartje Vos de Wael and Anneke Eenhoorn are recited and illustrated with film images.
