AZ NL: In 1994, a Bosnian family of refugees ends up in the Netherlands. In their new-found residence, the family members individually try to find a second home.
How do you deal with an emergency situation and migration to a strange country? A Bosnian family flees the war in their native country. In 1994, they end up as refugees in the Netherlands where they, after receiving their residence permit, start living in a small village. Here, the two parents and the two children, in individual ways, try to embrace their new country as their homeland. This occasionally leads to absurd situations. Director Ena Sendijarevic came to the Netherlands as a seven-year-old Bosnian girl herself.
