A sanatorium in Davos in the year 1920 is the setting of this short, wordless and largely musicless dance film, in which a newcomer tries to secure a position among the established patients. In a succession of short scenes, the relationships are described between the sanatorium guests themselves and between the guests and the staff. Tension rises when the novice apparently has an eye on someone else's wife.
