Folkert de Jong is an artist incorporating everyday materials in large sculptures, often with dark and dramatic themes. While De Jong works on an ever changing self-portrait, this documentary makes us part of his thoughts about matter, transience and success. By means of this self-exploration, he philosophises about the power and the limitations of the artist, and of life in general. Perhaps, transience is a strength rather than a weakness.
