Feature film version of a TV series for children, based on the book by Sjoerd Kuiper. Six-year-old Mees is faced by a big problem when his friend Tim moves house: Mees still has his penknife. Mees wants to give it back, but doesn't know his friend's new address. Mees tries to explain the problem to adults in his vicinity, but they don't have any time or don't want to listen. Mees tries all kinds of ingenious tricks to get in touch with Tim. He writes a letter, puts a small ad in the paper and in the end even gets on television. Awarded with a Golden Calf for Best Direction in 1993 and in 2007 admitted to the "Canon van de Nederlandse Film", a list of the most important Dutch films.
