Début feature film of Ben Verbong with Renée Soutendijk in her first leading role as the young law student and resistance fighter Hanny Schaft. She and her boyfriend eliminate collaborators during World War II. In early 1945, Schaft was arrested and eventually brought before a firing squad. This war film is based on historical facts. The music for this film was composed by Nicola Piovani. Awarded the Dutch Film Critics Award.
