What does happiness mean to a woman of 90 or a girl of 10? The documentary Lang zullen ze leven shows that happiness is not always about grand dreams and ideals, but is often to be found in everyday activities. In an inverted life-cycle (of death to birth) we follow the world of experience of people ranging in age from 90 to 10. In this way the film shows how a woman of 90 finds her ultimate happiness in a few starched Surinamese cloths and a man of 50 likes to dress up as a mole. Lang zullen ze leven is one part of a series of five documentaries in which young filmmakers provide a challenging cinematographic view of the theme 'life's a party'.
