The reconstructed family history of the Vos lineage uses fiction and archive footage to portray a clan of match manufacturers, irrevocably heading for the end.

The Vos lineage: four generations of men who together have only lived for 150 years. A little fanfare in a dark forest rules over life, death and the course of events. An omniscient narrator reconstructs the history of a clan of match manufacturers. Alternating between archive footage and fiction, the gentlemen irrevocably head for the end, as the last son runs into the sea.
