In this documentary, a group of Maghrib women in Belgium are acquiring a taste for women’s liberation. For the first time, they cheerfully explore the world outside of their homes.

In the 1960s, thousands of Maghrib men moved to Belgium to work there. Subsequently, many wives left their homes and relatives to follow their husbands to the unknown country. The world of most of these women became very limited in those years. In this documentary, these ladies, who have been in Belgium for many years, are acquiring a taste for women’s liberation. They are followed during their exploits in the city, during language class and on the trips they single-handedly arrange. In the best of spirits and with a healthy dose of self-mockery, they look at their lives then and now.
